SS. Salvatore's Crucifix PDF Print E-mail

crocifisso.jpg

Probably this ligneous crucifix was the observer of many events that passed through this fantastic land. It is still conserved in the Church of SS. Annunziata, in the hearth of Arquata.

This is a superb crucifix made by two monks: fratres Francesco and Berardo, during the XIII century. It comes from the church of S. Salvatore di Sotto from Ascoli Piceno and was won by the Arquatans in a fight against the people from Ascoli in 1680.
