In Pescara del Tronto, which is famous for the quality of waters running out from the sources of the mountain, is located the famous Holy Cross Church, where we find an ancient and magnificent Medieval Cross. The Church was erected by the Knights of Jerusalem. An aspect of significant interest is the altar, but the true masterpiece of the Church is the Medieval Cross, brought out of the Church only during the holy processions. It is in fact, one of the eldest metal Crosses of the whole Italy. Its centre depicts Jesus Christ and at each of the four arms we can find the four evangelists: St. John’s eagle, St. Matthew’s angel, St. Luca’s bull and St. Mark’s lion.
