In the village of Capodacqua we find an authentic jewel, which is the Madonna del Sole’s Oratory, which has an octagonal plan.

This small temple, built in 1528, symbolises the salvation of the soul.

Outside the Temple we can find a magnificent rose window, above the central entrance, showing the Sun and Moon, symbols of a sacred cosmology in which faith and spirituality are in harmony with the rhythm of the life.

The most important fresco of this temple is the “Assunzione della beata vergine”, as well as the “Madonna tra le nuvole”, which indicates a legendary fact: there was once a fight between Capodacqua and Norcia. Capodaqua was crowned triumphant by the Holy Mother who, appearing between the clouds, guided the village to victory...

Another interesting characteristic of Capodacqua are the wooden balconies.
